Mended Spirit
My mind is bruised with crippling thoughts
Of broken dreams and lovers lost.
The truth at last pervades my soul
To quell the illusion of vivid gold.
I put my faith and trust in you,
Not knowing all along
That I could be brave
That I could be strong
That I could exist quite well on my own.
I don’t need another to make me complete.
I’ve learned how to stand on my own two feet.
And though many calendars have come and gone,
My spirit is well as I bravely march on
To the song of my heart beating deep in my chest.
I know I am loved.
And I know I am blessed!
